Pengaruh Project Based Learning (PJBL) Terintegrasi STEM Terhadap Kemampuan Pemahaman Konsep Matematis Siswa
The ability to understand mathematical concepts is the key to the success
of learning mathematics. In order for learning objectives to be achieved, teachers
must create meaningful learning that involves students actively, of course with the
selection of the right model and approach. Social arithmetic is an essential material
in junior high school (SMP), students need to understand concepts and relate them
to relevant problems. The STEM-integrated PjBL model can be pursued to improve
students' ability to understand mathematical concepts. The objectives of this study
are: (1) Knowing the ability to understand mathematical concepts of students at
SMP Negeri 2 Ciledug before and after the implementation of the STEM integrated
PjBL model, (2) Knowing the effect of the STEM integrated PjBL model on
students' mathematical concept understanding abilities, (3) Knowing the response
students towards the application of the STEM integrated PjBL model. This research
is an experimental study with a one group pretest posttest design. The research
population is all seventh grade students of SMP Negeri 2 Ciledug in the 2021/2022
academic year as many as 148 students. The research sampling technique used
cluster random sampling as the experimental class, namely class VII A SMP Negeri
2 Ciledug as many as 30 students. The instruments used are tests and questionnaires.
The results of data analysis showed that: (1) There was a significant difference and
increase in the average value of the pretest and posttest students' mathematical
concept understanding abilities before the implementation of the STEM integrated
PjBL model from the pretest score of 33.33 which increased with the posttest
average score of 71 ,17. Based on the results of the n-gain test, it shows an increase
in the ability to understand mathematical concepts of students by 90%, which is
dominated by the medium category. (2) The results of the simple linear regression
equation test, the value of sig 0.000 < 0.005 means that there is a significant
influence between the STEM integrated PjBL model on the ability to understand
students' mathematical concepts. (3) Student responses to the application of the
STEM integrated PjBL model were 71.8% with a fairly good category.
